The ACE Awards celebrate individuals, organizations, and businesses in Fairfield County who have made a significant contribution to the community through arts and culture, or who have enriched the arts and culture sector through volunteerism or patronage. Awardees were honored at a breakfast on May 19th, 2016 at the Shore and Country Club, in Norwalk,CT.
Awards are given in five categories:
|Artist:||Recognizes an individual, or group of individuals, who demonstrates, commitment, creativity, and excellence in their respective fields in Fairfield County, along with a commitment to community.|
|Citizen:||Recognizes an individual whose dedication through volunteerism and/or financial support has contributed to the enrichment, accessibility, or prosperity of arts and culture in Fairfield County.|
|Corporate:||Recognizes a corporation, or business entity, that through encouragement and patronage has helped broaden interest in and/or sustainability of arts and culture in Fairfield County; or that has made a significant contribution to the economic development of its community through the creative sector.|
|Educator:||Recognizes an individual or organization that has made a meaningful impact on the arts and cultural education of students, young adults or others in Fairfield County, through outreach and/or programs.|
|Nonprofit:||Recognizes a nonprofit leader of an arts and cultural organization that has made a significant contribution to Fairfield County through visionary leadership, innovative change, community engagement, or artistic excellence.|
Keynote Speaker: Arthur Levitt, the 25th and longest serving Chairman of the SEC, with an introduction by Karen Brooks Hopkins, President Emeritus of the Brooklyn Academy of Music and current Senior Fellow in Residence at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Master of Ceremonies: Tony Award Winner, Actor & Singer, James Naughton
