The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County has received a $20,000 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation. The funding is for operational support that will sustain the current service programs and initiatives of the organization. These include managing and growing the use of FCBuzz.org, a regional collaborative marketing Web site containing a cultural calendar, searchable cultural directories, artist profiles, and job and networking opportunities, among other features. Elisabeth (Liz) Morten of Fairfield was elected president of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County's board of directors at a recent annual meeting. Ms. Morten succeeds Fritz Jellinghaus, who served as president since July of 2010. Read more

Fairfield County arts and cultural leaders, supporters and board trustees came together at the second annual Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County Trustee Network Forum. The widely attended event focused on the impact of the proposed cap on charitable deductions and featured Heather Noonan, Vice President for Advocacy, League of American Orchestras, and Doug White, former Academic Director of the George H. Heyman Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising at New York University and current Chief Philanthropic Advisor for the Ambassadors for Philanthropy. Read more

The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County and the Fairfield Arts Center invite all visual artists to a workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Artists will learn how to properly photograph their artwork. This session will cover the importance of lighting, formatting, and how to upload images onto a computer. Read more
